Classics That You Missed Because You Have No Clue Vol.1

I have decided that my first order of business as a responsible blogger is to educate the masses about that classics that may have passed them by. Because really you can't know everything, unless your me and awesome. I have decided to start with a my fa
vourite EP of all time.

The Dillinger Escape Plan - Irony Is A Dead Scene EP

Let me list three things i love in quick succession. Dillinger Escape Plan, The Beverly Hills Cop Theme and Mike Patton. If there is an album like this with two of those things in it, it is worth your time. Mike Patton, in my not so humble opinion, is a genius in almost everything he does (i say almost due to Faith No More's Cover of "I Started A Joke" the Bee Gees song. Not even Patton can make Bee Gees sound good.)I am a massive fan of Faith No More, Mr.Bungle, Fantomas, Tomohawk, Peeping Tom etc, on and on and on. The mans a machine. Dillinger Escape Plan are one of the most exciting and progressive bands on the planet period. After their much loved "Calculating Infinity" album was released in 1999 DEP blew up into the most rabidly followed underground noisecore bands in the world. After their original singer left them in the year 2000 Mike Patton (a big DEP fan) decided to lend his voice to the controlled chaos that is DEP. What ensued was incredible, an 18 minute EP of combined musical genius combining elements of hardcore, speed metal and warped jazz into a fusion of crippling intensity. I fully realise that some people dont get this kind of music, but they damn well should for gods sake. Change your life and all that jazz. Any way here's my personal favourite cut.
